What I Wish I Knew About Why I Felt So Scattered as a Busy Working Mom

Beautiful Mama,

There was a time when I felt scattered every single day.

Not because I wasn’t trying…
but because I was trying to do everything.

I was working full-time, taking care of my home, showing up for my family…
and still feeling like I was falling behind.

Have you ever felt like that?

Like no matter how much you do… it’s never enough?

I remember thinking,
“If I could just manage my time better… everything would finally fall into place.”

So I tried.

I bought the planners.
I time blocked my day.
I woke up earlier.

But no matter what I did…
the feeling didn’t go away.

I was still overwhelmed.
Still mentally exhausted.
Still scattered.

The Moment Everything Shifted

Then one day, I hit a wall.

I was tired… not just physically, but mentally and emotionally.

And I asked myself a question I’ll never forget:

“Why do I feel like I’m doing so much… but still getting nowhere?”

That question changed everything.

Because in that moment, I realized something I had never considered before…

It wasn’t that I needed better time management.

I needed clarity.

I Was Carrying Too Much

Looking back now, I can clearly see it.

I wasn’t scattered because I lacked discipline.

I was scattered because I was carrying too much.

Too many responsibilities
Too many expectations
Too many things that were never actually mine to carry

Some of it came from pressure.
Some of it came from guilt.
Some of it came from trying to be everything for everyone.

And the truth is…

God never asked me to carry all of that.

The Shift That Changed Everything

That realization shifted everything for me.

Not overnight… but intentionally.

I stopped trying to manage everything…

and I started asking a different question:

“God, what is actually mine to carry today?”

And that one question began to bring clarity into my life.

It gave me permission to:
  • Release what wasn’t mine
  • Set boundaries without guilt
  • Focus on what truly mattered

A Reminder from Scripture

Scripture reminds us: “Each one should carry their own load.” — Galatians 6:5

Not everything.
Not everyone else’s expectations.
Not the pressure to do it all.

Just what God has actually assigned to you.

From Scattered to Spirit-Led

Since then, life hasn’t been perfect…

but it has been different.

I have more peace.
More clarity.
More space to breathe.

Not because I’m doing less…

but because I’m doing what’s mine.

Beautiful Mama, hear me:

You’re not scattered because you lack discipline.
You’re scattered because you’re carrying too much.

A Gentle Invitation

Maybe you’re in that place right now…

Feeling overwhelmed
Trying your best
Wondering why it still feels like too much

I want you to know this:

Transformation doesn’t always start big.

Sometimes it starts with a moment.
A new awareness.
A different question.

And maybe… this is your moment.

You don’t have to carry it all.

Felicia 💜
