3 Ways to Anchor Your Busy Day in God’s Word
There were many season in my life where I felt like my days were always running me instead of me running them. I would wake up, grab my phone, dive into emails, and before I knew it the whole day was filled with work deadlines, kid activities, and never-ending to-do lists. At night, all I could do was just collapse into bed realizing I hadn’t opened my Bible or prayed beyond a quick “Lord, help me and give me strength to get through this day.” I would apologize to God and ask Him to help me because I didn’t want to keep neglecting Him.
Maybe you’ve felt that way too — like you love God deeply, but the busyness of life keeps crowding Him out.
I remember one particular day: I had a big work load before me, my boys needed rides in two different directions, and dinner was still a big question mark. In the middle of all that chaos, I felt spiritually empty. I was in constant hustle mood, operating in my own strength. That night I told myself, This has to change. I can’t continue to live spiritually exhausted anymore.
That’s when I started practicing small but powerful ways to anchor my day in God’s Word. I didn’t overhaul my entire schedule all at once. but I found little intentional moments to invite Him in — and it changed everything.
Here are 3 ways you can do the same:
1. Start With Scripture, Not Screens
Before you scroll, pause. Even one verse in the morning can set your heart on the right foundation.
2. Create Anchors in Daily Rhythms
Add reminders of Scripture where you already spend time — the kitchen, car, lunch time, or even while folding laundry.
3. End With God’s Word
Close your day by journaling a verse or reflecting on a promise, or in worship. It brings peace that no checklist could ever provide.
Mama, I’ve learned that being anchored in God’s Word isn’t about perfection — it’s about presence. When we intentionally create space for Him, even in small ways, our days feel lighter, our hearts steadier, and our faith stronger.
Which of these 3 ways will you try this week?
If this resonates with you, I recorded a new video where I go deeper into these three practices and share how you can make them part of your daily routine. Trust me, you don’t want to miss it.
