Wellness at Work: Balancing Health For Busy Career Moms

If you have trouble focusing and concentrating, there is a possibility that it is because  you’re not taking care of your health. To care for your health, properly, you need to consider all aspects including your mind, your body, and your spirit all need to be cared for to keep things running in good order. However, when it comes to this topic, you can do so much better than maintain, you can optimize your health for productivity.

Take Care of Your Body

As they say, every body is different. Along with your doctor, determine the best way to take care of your body to maximize your health and wellness. For most people eating right and exercising are key to good health.

For some, that might mean eating a low-carb, keto style diet. For someone else, that might mean becoming a low-fat plant-based vegan. For exercise, you may prefer to run and lift weights, and someone else might love biking, or swimming. Whatever you do to ensure that  you enjoy it and that your health is as good as you can make. It is a goal to work toward.

1 Corinthians 6:19 - "Or do you not know that your body is the temple of the Holy Spirit who is in you, whom you have from God, and you are not your own?"

Take Care of Your Mind

Your mind can also be cared for by eating well and moving. Another factor involved with good mental health is to get enough sleep. Most people need a lot more rest than they think. In fact, most people need between 7 and 9 hours of sleep every single night. Which I know moms that's very hard to master most nights!!

The other thing you need to be well mentally is to spend time with people who sharpen, encourage and build you up. Then help you change your mindset, your way of thinking. Building strong relationships is essential to good mental health. In some cases, genetics plays a role too. If that’s true for you, finding a good counselor is essential. God’s way to be healthy mentally is to RENEW your mind daily through the word of God.

Romans 12:2 - "And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God."

Take Care of Your Spirit

It is  essential to give thought about whether you’re feeding your spirit with healthy food or not on a regular basis. What are your priorities? Are you ensuring that you make it an important factor in  your day and goal setting? Mary let the housework, and  the dinner preparations go to take advantage of the opportunity to sit at Jesus' feet and learn of Him.

Luke 10: 38-42 - "Now as they were traveling along, He entered a village; and a woman named Martha welcomed Him into her home. She had a sister called Mary, who was seated at the Lord’s feet, listening to His word. But Martha was distracted with all her preparations; and she came up to Him and said, “Lord, do You not care that my sister has left me to do all the serving alone? Then tell her to help me.” But the Lord answered and said to her, “Martha, Martha, you are worried and bothered about so many things; but only one thing is necessary, for Mary has chosen the good part, which shall not be taken away from her.”

You may desire to join a bible study group to help keep your spirit man healthy, revived and energized. It is the Word of God that is alive and active that will bring forth  life!!!!

Whatever that is, ensure that you include it in your daily life.
