Friendship with God

You know, we all like having friends in so called  high places. If we need a favor, or need to get something done we know we can pick up the phone and call that trusted friend. I tell you it feels mighty good, knowing that it will get taken care of.

We all have associates and true friends. Best friends spend quality time together. Your best bestie knows how you operate. You have gotten to know each other’s character. They know a lot of your thought patterns, you can just be free around them. There is no pretending, and no masking, here I am!!!!! You share your innermost secrets and concerns, worries, and fears with them openly, without being judged. Now, you might get looked at crazy and you laugh together, but she trusts you!!  Your friend is with you when it's good in your life and when it's not good. You laugh, talk, share, and sometimes you may disagree a bit but it doesn't break that bond!!!!!!

I feel that a lot of times  when we go to God in prayer we go labouring. We enter into His presence with a mind set so focused on how He can fulfill our needs, being our provider, father, protector, fortress, deliverer until we don't  enter into His presence in a relaxed state. We don’t see Him as a friend we can talk to like our best friend that knows us so well. He said when we abide in Him and He in us He no longer calls you servants, for a servant does not know what his master is doing, but I have called you friends, for all things that I heard from my father I  have made them known to you. John 15; 14

Now just think about that for a minute. The creator of the universe is your best friend!!!!  The one that knows all things!!!!  In your bonding  time together you share what's on your heart and  mind with Him. But not only that,  He makes His mysteries known to you. He shares what’s on His mind with you. WOW!!!!!!!

The Lord spoke to Moses face to face, as a man speaks to his friend (Exodus 33:11). They had an intimate relationship. This is what God desires with us. He has extended and continues to extend the invitation. Have we been too busy to accept?

Building an intimate  friendship relationship with God must be on purpose. It requires yada time. You cannot get to know someone if you don’t spend quality time with them. This may require some sacrifices. Paul quoted  What is more, I consider everything a loss because of the surpassing worth of knowing Christ Jesus my Lord, for whose sake I have lost all things. I consider them as rubbish,  in order that I may gain Christ.

We have the best and greatest friend anyone could ever have!!!! Let’s recognize, walk, and operate in the newness of this precious loving friendship!!!!

Be Blessed & Balanced
