Consulting With God

Proverbs 3:6 ~ “In all of your ways recognize and acknowledge Him. He will direct and make your path straight.” God desires that we totally surrender and submit to Him. He is concerned about every area of our life. As His children, we are to seek His will in ALL that we do. It doesn't matter how big or small the situations are. By acknowledging Him, we are trusting in His authority and power. We are seeking His wisdom and counsel. We must be totally dependent on Him. Exercising our faith in Him will lead us in the right direction. Admitting that we can not run the affairs in our life displays total dependence on Him!
Proverbs 16: 3 ~ “Roll your works upon the Lord (commit and trust them wholly to Him) He will cause your thoughts to become agreeable to His will, and ) so shall your plans be established and succeed.” Yes, we have our own plans, goals and visions. All of them may be great. However, have we acknowledged the Lord concerning them? I find that I myself do not consult with God on the minute things in my life. I always tell myself, “well, I can handle this.” But He made it very clear that ALL things should be consulted with Him. Sometimes I think we skip this process due to our fear of what our father might say regarding our situation. He may have something completely different waiting for us, but we only want to hear Him confirm what we want for ourselves. I love Proverbs 16:3, it lets us know that as we continue to wholeheartedly seek and acknowledge Him, our thoughts will begin to line up with His divine will.
Our level of faith plays a huge role in us being able to fully receive God’s counseling. We must come to Him in humility, rolling it all over to Him. Sometimes, He may instruct us to do something that is incomprehensible to us. But, we must remember no matter how good our intentions are for ourselves, we don’t ultimately know what’s best for us. We must remember that we are sheep, and God is the shepherd. Who knows what paths we need to take other than God Himself? Most times we are at the crossroad and don’t know what direction to take next.!!!! God doesn’t always answer when we want Him to. In these circumstances, we must continually seek and ask for counseling, and at the right time, it will be given to us.
After we have received our divine counsel, what are we going to do with the download? Here lies the true test. Are we going to walk accordingly to the wisdom & insight that has been given? Are we going to submit to His way and will , and follow every one of His instructions? Just know that it is not always easy to walk in obedience. The battle between the flesh & the spirit is a daily one. That is why we need to ask God daily to give us the power to act accordingly to His will. As we continue to delight ourselves in the Lord, His thoughts for you will become yours also. Ultimately, this results in God giving you the desires of your heart.
It’s imperative that we seek God for counsel in ALL that we do so that our plans will be established and succeed. This is the only way that we can continue to grow and flourish. Let’s flourish together!!
